Admissions
There are currently 2 pathways for non first-year students to enter the University Honors Program.
- Lateral Admissions is available to rising UF sophomores who were not part of the Honors Program during their first year. Learn more about lateral admission here.
- Transfer Admissions is available to select students who have been accepted into an undergraduate program at UF:
- Lower-division transfer students with a 3.75 GPA from their previous institution and at least 5 semesters remaining at UF (more information coming soon).
- Note, upper-division transfer students should take advantage of the opportunity to graduate with honors in the major (disciplinary honors).
- A.A. degree recipients from select honors programs at a state college / community college in Florida via our pilot partner agreement. Currently this includes transfer students who have graduated with Highest Honors in the Santa Fe College Honors Program or Valencia College Seneff Honors College and were accepted into an undergraduate program at the University of Florida. - Note, students who have earned an A.A. degree as part of a dual enrollment program and who are admitted to UF as first time in college (FTIC) are not eligible for this agreement. Those students will need to apply for the Honors Program as part of the UF freshman application process.
