The University of Florida Honors Program is proud to be an institutional member of the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) and the Southern Regional Honors Council (SHRC). These memberships connect our students, faculty, and staff to a broader community of honors scholars and educators committed to innovation, academic excellence, and student success.

Through these affiliations, the Honors Program remains engaged with emerging best practices in honors education while expanding opportunities for our students and faculty to learn, present, collaborate, and lead beyond the University of Florida.

 

 

NCHC

The National Collegiate Honors Council is the premier professional organization supporting honors education in the United States. NCHC brings together honors colleges and programs from across the country to advance teaching, research, student engagement, and institutional excellence through conferences, publications, professional development, and collaborative initiatives.

As an institutional member, UF Honors students have access to opportunities that may include:

  • Networking with honors educators and administrators nationwide
  • Access to publications, resources, and best practices in honors education

SHRC

The Southern Regional Honors Council serves honors programs and colleges throughout the southeastern United States. SHRC promotes excellence in honors education by fostering collaboration among institutions and providing meaningful opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to engage with the broader honors community.

Institutional membership provides students with opportunities to:

  • Attend the annual SHRC conference at member registration rates
  • Publish in Sanctuary Literary Arts Journal
  • Apply for an SHRC grant to support experiential learning
  • Build professional and academic networks with peers at other honors institutions
  • Develop leadership, presentation, and communication skills through conference participation

Faculty and staff benefit from opportunities to:
