Table for Ten

Table for Ten is a curated monthly dinner series sponsored by the Honors Program that brings together small groups of students with a faculty member or an interesting member of the Gainesville community to exchange food for thought.

Interested Honors Students

With only nine student seats available at each monthly meal, the series offers a unique opportunity to build meaningful connections, exchange ideas, and inspire conversations beyond the dinner table.  Honors students may attend one dinner per semester and will be selected based on a short application, which will be available in the Honors on Wednesday at the start of each semester.

Honors students are encouraged to email Dr. Spear with recommendations for faculty members or community partners who may be interested in hosting a Table for Ten.

Interested Hosts

Honors is currently recruiting hosts for this unique opportunity to engage with students in a meaningful and memorable setting. As sponsors for this series, the Honors Program will reserve space, coordinate student applications, and handle all meal arrangements with input from the hosts.

Hosts are asked to:

  • Select a dinner date and time during the first week of the month during the fall or spring semesters
  • Attend and facilitate the approximately one-hour dinner conversation, creating a welcoming environment that encourages thoughtful discussion and connection among participants
  • Coordinate with Honors on meal preferences, whether you would like a catered meal or prefer to cook in the Honors Village kitchen.

Faculty or community partners interested in participating in Table for Ten should reach out to Dr. Spear
