About AI Odyssey

Welcome to the future! UF’s AI Across the Curriculum initiative is opening new doors for students in every major to build the AI skills, competencies, and literacies that will shape the future of work. In this course-based camp, students will discover what’s possible through behind-the-scenes tours and conversations with the students, faculty, and staff already using AI in meaningful ways across campus. They will get hands-on experience using NaviGator, and they will team up with a partner to compete in a generative AI art contest  to get an early idea of the real AI Days student competitions. Along the way, they will officially begin the AI Medallion program and earn credit for select experiences, including attending an AI² workshop, attending an AI lecture, and completing a mock interview with Quinncia.

As first-year students, making connections is critical. The relationships students form as they complete the AI Odyssey experience with other students who share their interests in machine learning and UF's AI endeavors will help them all be successful in their endeavors at the AI University.

Important

  • Students that sign up for AI Odyssey will be enrolled in a one-credit Honors Program course as part of the experience. This one-credit class will be completed during the days before Fall classes begin, so there is no need to worry about a conflict with the schedule of another class.
  • Please do not register if you have a time conflict. All honors retreats and course-based camps have conflicting schedules with both sorority rush and marching band.
