Honors First Generation (H1G) is an organization dedicated to supporting first-year, first-generation Honors students with their transition from high school to the University of Florida.
H1G provides upperclassman mentors to help with questions about academics, extracurriculars, campus resources, etc. In addition to providing a mentor, our organization hosts a variety of activities and provides resources that can help with academic and social adjustment to the University of Florida.
Our workshops are dedicated to providing information about the resources on campus and the greater Gainesville area. Furthermore, our socials can range from small get-togethers to larger retreats like our annual century tower tour and our most-awaited lunch with President Fuchs.
If you are interested in connecting with other first-generation Honors students, please reach out to Kristy Spear, kspear@honors.ufl.edu.
