What's Next - Preview Orientation

Honors students must attend a Preview orientation session during the summer prior to enrolling at UF. Honors students begin their Preview session along with non-honors students and are later separated into smaller groups led by honors advisors and student leaders. Space is limited for each Preview session, so registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have not registered for Preview, click here

Preview is a full 2-day program, lasting from 8:00am on Day 1 until 5:00pm on Day 2. Day 1 includes academic advising presentations, meetings with college representatives, and evening programming. Day 2 includes one-on-one academic advising with an Honors advisor, registration for summer and/or fall classes, Gator 1 Central (student ID cards, etc.), presentations, and course registration confirmation. If you have questions about Preview, please contact New Student Programs directly at (352) 392-8396.

After Preview; Before Classes Begin

Once Classes Begin

You will need to maintain a 3.0 cumulative UF grade point average to remain active in the Honors Program.

You are highly encouraged to take one honors course per semester for each of your first four semesters at UF. You also are highly encouraged to participate in at least one student involvement activity, whether that is leadership-related, community service, internship, research, or study abroad. If you would like to receive your Honors Certificate of Completion stating that you completed the UF Honors Program, you will be required to take four honors courses and participate in one student involvement activity.

You will be expected to check your Honors Daily Opportunity E-mail. You are automatically signed up for this listserv after you attend Preview. The listserv contains valuable information about research opportunities, community events, and official announcements from the Honors Program. This e-mail will be sent to your Gatorlink e-mail address. If you have any questions regarding your Gatorlink account, contact the Gatorlink Help Desk at (352) 392-HELP.
