Wentworth Scholarship
Undergraduate Study
Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the Wentworth Foundation in the form a substantial gift the Honors Program is now able to offer the following scholarships to honors students:
- Freshmen Wentworth Scholarship. Each spring (February) the Honors Program will invite honors freshmen to apply for the Wentworth Scholarship. To be eligible for an invitation students must have completed at least 14 hours of course work with a 3.75 gpa and above in fall semester. The application will include an essay. Up to 20 scholarships of $ 1000.00 each will be awarded. The essay will be an important component of the selection process, as will the difficulty of the student's curriculum; additionally the committee will select students with promise for an exceptional academic career at UF and the likelihood of being competitive for national scholarships such as Truman, Udall, Goldwater, Fulbright, Rhodes, Marshall etc. The deadline for completing the application is Friday, April 3 at 4:30pm.
- Wentworth European Scholarship. Each fall the Honors Program will hold a competition to award two scholarships of $ 5000.00 each for spring/summer study in Strasbourg, France. Two scholarships will be for students in the sciences who will work in a research lab there.
- Wentworth Travel Scholarship. Up to 40 scholarships of up to $ 500.00 each will be awarded each year to honors students for projects involving undergraduate research: these will include travel to a library or archives to do research; attend a meeting to present a paper or poster; attend a professional meeting in your major (must have a specific reason for going); participate in a competitive internship (unpaid) in another location etc. There is no deadline. We will continue to make awards until the annual fund is exhausted. Students who have access to travel funds from the University Scholars Program will not be eligible for this award.

Beckman Scholarship
Undergraduate Study
The purpose of the Beckman Scholars Program is to help stimulate, encourage and support research activities by exceptionally talented undergraduate students. Research focuses on either chemistry, biochemistry, the biological and medical sciences or some combination of these subjects. Students should apply very early in their studies, generally in the freshman or early sophomore years.
Florida Beckman scholars will be paired with both a primary mentor at UF and secondary external mentor consisting of a recognized scholar whose scientific expertise matches the area of their research. Scholars will perform their research in the Chemistry or Zoology Departments of UF's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, or the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of UF's College of Medicine. Fellows will receive more than $17,600 of financial support and significant other benefits from the University of Florida including a third summer of research support guaranteed, and extended mentoring to assist all participants to earn a potential joint BS/MS degree. Honors Program Study Abroad Scholarship
Undergraduate Study
These scholarships are for any UF approved programs for study abroad in the summer term. At least 6 awards, of up to $1000 each are given each year. Eligibility: UF undergraduate, current UF Honors student. Preference given to freshman or sophomore in Honors Program who has not gone abroad before. Apply online through the International Center Study Abroad Services; see the UFIC Website for application and more details.

Albert G. Raybun Scholarship
Undergraduate Study
This is a need-based scholarship for juniors following a pre-medical course of study, to support them during their senior year. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must submit a letter stating "the circumstances for requesting aid". All applicants must have a current FAFSA on file with the Financial Aid office. Deadline is April 22 for an award for the following academic year. Minimum grants are $500; maximum $1000. Pick up application form from Honors Office at 118 Hume Hall.
