Honors Advising

Individualized advising, coaching, and scholar development are among the most important benefits of being a member of the University of Florida Honors Program. Our advisors support students in the exploration and development of educational and career goals while promoting responsibility in the decision-making process. We encourage students to meet with honors advisors regularly to develop a comprehensive plan for identifying and procuring academic and enrichment opportunities.

Outside of Preview, students are not assigned a specific honors advisor. Students can elect to engage with honors advisors through express advising or scheduled appointments. We recommend students review the Honors Advising Syllabus before advising meetings.

Melissa, Regan, Kristy, MeredithKelly, and Renee are dedicated professionals who will help you navigate your time at UF.  We urge you to take advantage of their expertise and use their knowledge to maximize your experience at the university.

Advising Opportunities

Express Advising

Express advising hours are available for quick meetings during the fall and spring semesters. Students are helped on a first-come, first-served basis. Express advising is intended for brief matters that can be handled in under 10 minutes. Express hours are currently being handled via Zoom. Please check your Honors Cohort page in Canvas or your UF email for the specific Zoom link to use during express hours.

Regular express hours are available after add/drop until the last day of classes.

Fall 2020 express hours will be available in August.

Advising and Coaching Appointments

Appointments are reserved for broader conversations related to goal setting and achievement. Advising through the Honors Program does not replace advising through academic departments. Students are encouraged to visit major advisors for academic specific questions.

Current honors students may schedule an appointment by calling the honors office at (352) 392-1519.
