Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
Program alumni
The following studnets participated in the summer 2002 pilot program:
- Katie Provost: Katie is currently a first year Ph.D. student at Johns Hopkins University. She was a rising sophomore at JMU when she participated in the program. Her freshman research project focused on two topics: 1. molecular aspects of prostate development and 2. characterization of Ascomycete fungi.
- Ju-Han Chang: Donna is currently in denatal school. She was a rising sophomore at JMU when she participated in the program.
- Joseph Doherty: Joe is currently a first year student at Baylor School of Medicine. He was a rising senior at JMU when he participated in the program.
The following students participated in the summer 2003 pilot program:
- Joshua Barnes: Josh graduated from JMU in 2005. He is currently working for CACI as an analyst.
- Crystal Clarke: Crystal is currently a second year graduate student at the Monmount University.
- Akhil Rastolgi: Akhil is currently a second year student at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
- Vera Wubah: Vera is currently a first year graduate student at Yale University.

Applications deadline for the Summer 2006 program will be available in January 2006. Students are required to present their work at regional and national meetings after participating in the program. Click here pictures of student presentations by previous participants.
