Honors Residential College at Hume Hall

Completed in Fall 2002 and dedicated on Sep. 6, 2002, Hume Hall was designed as a residentially-based academic community. The facility integrates the housing needs of Honors residents with facilities, staff and programs in support of the Honors Program. The Honors Residential College at Hume Hall is the first facility in the U.S. designed and constructed specifically in support of a residential college concept. The facility includes two residential buildings housing 608 residents; a commons building; a multimedia-capable classroom; a faculty office; small group study space; a large activity room; an Honors Council Office; and a 24-hour information desk. Single- and double-room suites with bathrooms surround a floor lounge. Bathrooms are cleaned by Housing custodial staff. 

A new study lounge equipped with comfortable seating for individual study, two private rooms for group study, and a private conference room for student group use will open in 118 Hume in late fall 2010.  In partnership with the UF Libraries, a reference librarian will be on staff to assist students with research a few nights per week. 

Please Note: Honors Students are not required to live in Hume Hall.
