Honors Courses
Our interesting curriculum and renowned faculty are at the heart of the honors experience. Honors courses generally are limited to 25 students or less, which encourages more interaction between students and professors. Honors courses are designed to challenge students intellectually, to broaden their knowledge, and to teach them to think in new ways. Please note that although we handle registration for the HHMI Science for Life course, it is not a traditional honors course.
Early Registration:
When registering for classes in the second semester of their first year and for classes in their second year, students who remain in good standing with the program are eligible to register during the early registration period for up to 10 credit hours of courses. Please note that some departments limit early registration for certain courses so that not every course will necessarily be available. The early registration period will be announced on the Honors Daily Opportunities List-Serv E-mail.
You will not be able to register during honors early registration if:
- You are past your 3rd semester at UF
- Your GPA is below a 3.0
- You have a HOLD on your record
- You do not have the prerequisites for the course you are trying to add
- The course you are trying to add is full or departmentally controlled
